Keystone Behavioral Health- KatieKeystone Behavioral Pediatrics offers comprehensive behavioral and psychological services to address a wide-range of challenges faced by children and their families. Parents want the best for their children and so do we.  Our mission is to help children reach their full potential by providing individualized treatment using evidenced-based clinical practices.  Our clinical team has the specialized training and experience needed to address a broad-range of concerns including common behavior problems as well as severe behavioral and psychiatric disorders. Summer Camp

Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics summer camp offers a fun and educational program for children. Camp activities include: social skills, sports and leisure, direct instruction, and sensory activities. Social Skills focuses on friendship management, self-help, communication, self- regulation, and conflict management. Our sports and leisure skills activities focus on team sports, arts and crafts, and music therapy. Direct instruction activities are tailored to each child’s specific academic needs. Instructors include board certified behavior analysts, certified teachers, and psychologists. Call for more information.

Expansion of Services

Occupational and Speech Therapy: Starting in August, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy will be offered at Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics.

Occupational Therapy
Therapists work with patients to achieve optimal function in one or more of the  following areas:

  • Fine motor skills and coordination development
  • Activities of daily living, such as feeding, swallowing, dressing
  • Bathing/hygiene and use of equipment to increase independence and enhance performance
  • Upper extremity and trunk range of motion activities
  • Visual perceptual/visual motor skills
  • Sensory integration

Speech Therapy
Speech therapists work with patients providing both assessment and treatment in one or more of the following areas:

  • Expressive and receptive language disorders
  • Articulation disorders
  • Fluency and voice disorders
  • Swallowing and feeding disorders
  • Cognitive and rehabilitation skills
  • Patient and family education and instruction

NEW Classes

2009 New ClassesParent Training Classes
Beginning in the Fall of 2009, Keystone will offer classes to caregivers on the basic principles of behavior.  Classes are open to parents, guardians, and grandparents.  Call for more information!

Social Skills
Social Skills Classes will resume in September.  Classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 5:00-6:00p.m.  Social Skills classes will address the following:   self-help, communication, self- regulation, and conflict management.  Kids have a great time and have an opportunity to learn important skills.  Classes are filling up FAST.  Call NOW to sign up!

Sib Shop
Sib Shop is a new class available for siblings who have a brother or sister with any developmental disability.  Classes will help children learn about the specific needs of their sibling, how to cope with daily challenges and learn to accept the special needs of their brother or sister.  Classes are on the FIRST MONDAY of every month.

Professional Crisis Management (PCM) Training
In August, our entire staff will participate in PCM training.  The Professional Crisis Management system (PCM) was developed by a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts for use by educators and human service providers who understand the need for clinically focused crisis management services.  PCM is an advanced, behavioral, competency based, crisis management system, structured to ensure successful prevention and intervention with maximum safety, increased dignity and maximum effectiveness.  PCM classes will also be available to caregivers beginning in September.

Meet & Greet

Starting September 7, 2009, our psychologists will hold a Meet & Greet the first Monday of every month. Please stop by between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. to chat with Dr. Falwell, Dr. DeSantis and Dr. Kolb. The Meet & Greet is open to all prospective clients and their families. Light refreshments will be served.

Welcome Jennifer, Lindsay, and Marcelle!

Keystone Behavioral Health- JenniferJennifer is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. Her area of concentration is Parent-Infant Mental Health. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Florida, and an M.S. in Psychology from Walden University. Her previous employment has primarily been with at-risk youth, and she thoroughly enjoys working with children and families. She is very excited about the opportunity to gain additional training and experience at Keystone.

Keystone Behavioral Health - Lindsay B. VickLindsay B. Vick received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child Development/Family Sciences from the University of Central Missouri in 2007 and her Masters in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University in 2009. From 2007-2009 Lindsay worked for the state of Illinois where she provided in-home parent training to families in the child welfare system. Lindsay completed her internship at an autism center located on the Southern Illinois campus with training that focused on behaviorally based treatments for children with autism. Lindsay finished her requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and will be taking the exam in August.

Keystone Behavioral Health - MarcelleMarcelle Medina received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Valdosta State University in May of 2008. Since then she has worked as a Behavior Therapist in a variety of settings including clinic, school and home. During this time she has gained experience working with children of all ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, as well as other developmental disorders. Marcelle has finished her requirements to become a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst and will be taking the exam in August.
